Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires / MALBA (Av. Pres. Figueroa Alcorta 3415, Palermo, Buenos Aires) – located in the city’s Palermo district, this museum (opened in 2001) showcases a selection of over 500 works, including drawings, paintings, sculptures and objects by artists from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela. The body of works allows visitors to appreciate both the coincidences and the differences among the great Latin American artists, and to allow for a new reading of Latin American art history. Admission: $40 (adult), $20 (seniors, students), free for children under 5 years. Hours: 12 Noon – 8 pm (Thursday – Monday), 12 Noon – 9 pm (Wednesday). Closed on Tuesdays.
